Cool Fun

So for those wondering how the other Dixie cups were used...
I found this online- they are called power towers. The students have to read the word or answer the math fact before they can stack them to make towers.
The kids are having so much fun with them!

A look around the room...

In our reading/listening center we have a new rug that was donated to the classroom.  




We have more storage space in our writing center thanks to some helpful giftcards.- Please excuse the mess...



We also have new chalk board vinyl cling thanks to some fun shopping! I will be using those to post our learning targets.

Constitution Day

In honor of Constitution Day, we have pens with feathers. Ask your child why- see if they remember!

Cool Stuff

We are so excited that one of our grandmoms made these lights for us in our room! This is one of the reasons I asked for Dixie cups. Love the lights!

What a Week!

We have done a lot of great things this week! Take a look!


These are our Class Rules.  We are all teachers and learners in this classroom and we all have the right to be respected. 





This is our Class Mission.  I asked the class why they come to school and how are they going to accomplish that goal.  I turned their words into sentences.  I was amazed by what they had to say!!



I found this on the internet somewhere and thought it was so appropriate for us.  I first showed the class the pictures of the boy and girl and asked what they noticed about them.  They said their big eyes and glasses.  I said they were right and those big eyes and glasses are writer's eyes and they all need to have them when they are writing!
