I found this on pinterest!!!  This is so true!! 

Monday- Monday!!

Today we practiced ant math.  We pretended we were having a picnic and these ants kept trying to eat our food (addition) and then we would try to get rid of them (subtraction)- I think the kids just liked playing with the ants!!

These are our "S'more Men" we made to go with our "How to Make S'mores" paper.  I love the kids creativity!

I just loved this cookie a friend brought for me- adorable!!

I sent these out after the first day of school- aren't they cute!!

I didn't put this on here before, and I am really proud of how well it turned out!

Solar s'mores!

The kids were so excited on making our solar s'mores.  We also wrote a "How to" paper on how to make them, before we actually made ours.  We had talked about using solar power and even talked about the pizza boxes, but several friends wrote about using the microwave to melt them- too cute!!

This is a picture once they were done.  Only 12 minutes outside and they were perfect!! The kids had chocolate dripping down their faces.  They had a great time making them and even better time eating them!!

Almost Friday!!!!!

I can not tell you how excited I am to be back in school.  I feel that I only left my little friends for a couple of weeks and we are now back in the swing of things!  Things have gone so well this week- I couldn't have asked for anything more!!  To end our great week back at school (and in the 1st grade!!!), we are going to be making some solar s'mores- yummy!!!  I am uber excited to make these and am hoping they turn out great!  I will post pictures as soon as I have them!!  I can't wait to see some of you there!!!

Great Meet the Teacher Night

Thank you to all who came out to say hello!  What a wonderful joy it was to see all my friends!  I missed you so much over the summer!  I am so thankful that I get to have you in my class again!  We are going to have a great year and I have some wonderful things planned!  While I am waiting for Tuesday to come I am hanging out with my girls and taking it easy.  This is truly the calm before the storm (starting back to school)!  I hope you are all enjoying your last weekend before the storm school starts too!

Reading level labels

I am so excited! I found these "printed packing tape" with different letters on clearance for .60 cents each! I am going to wrap the book spine of my leveled readers so students know where to  put back their books.

School is getting closer...

I just love buying stuff for the classroom. This doesn't always go well with my husband or the checkbook. That is when I remind him it is all for the kids (my excitement is just a bonus)!  
I have been storing my finds in a little corner & just had to lay it all out to see what I had. Sadly, this is just one treasure stash, there is more- oh yes, there is more ;)

First Things First

I am so excited about seeing all my friends again!  To occupy my time until we meet again, I have played around and worked on the computer.  As you can see I also created a new blog.  It is my hope that this blog will give parents a window into our classroom. I hope you all enjoy!
